Fox News Am-Bushes Other Cable News Nets

Fox News Channel was the network of choice for viewers interested in President Bush’s speech Monday night about transferring power to Iraq.

According to Nielsen Media Research data, 3.54 million viewers tuned in Fox News during the president’s speech from 8 p.m.-8:37 p.m. That compared with just under 1.5 million for Cable News Network and 934,000 on average for MSNBC.

The broadcast networks did not air the speech.

Expanding the measurement period to 9 p.m. -- a span that concluded subsequent analysis -- Fox News drew an average of 3.34 million watchers versus 1.4 million for CNN and 942,000 on CNBC.
