Fox Sports en Español Is an All-Star

The Major League Baseball All-Star Game will return to Fox Sports en Español for the second year in a row, the network said Thursday.

The Spanish-language telecast will air live from Detroit's Comerica Park Tuesday, July 12, starting with pregame commentary at 8 p.m. (EST).

Fox Sports en Español commentator Luis Rodriguez will host the pregame. Once the first pitch is thrown, veteran baseball announcer Pepe Mantilla will provide play-by-play, with color commentary from former Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics slugger Jose Tolentino.

“We are proud to be the only U.S. TV network to once again offer Latino sports fans live Spanish-language coverage of the Major League Baseball All-Star Game," Fox Sports en Español executive vice president and general manager David Sternberg said in a prepared statement.

“Given the participation of so many Latin American and U.S. Hispanic players in the game, this year's broadcast will not only bring our viewers closer to their favorite players and teams, but will also serve as the perfect lead-in to our exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the MLB playoffs and World Series in October,” he added.
