FSN’s Best Damn Title Match Period

Fox Sports Net’s Best Damn Sports Show Period is getting into the ring.

The series will feature a live heavyweight-championship bout Thursday, Sept. 23, pitting James "Lights Out" Toney and Rydell Booker against each other for the vacant International Boxing Association heavyweight title.

The bout will be held at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif.

Best Damn Sports Show Period hosts Chris Rose, Tom Arnold and John Salley will be on-site, joined by I, Max host and FSN boxing analyst Max Kellerman, who will analyze the match and the overall heavyweight picture.

Then, Kellerman and FSN Sunday Night Fights colleagues host Barry Tompkins and analyst Sean O’Grady will call the bout and conduct postfight interviews.

"As Best Damn Sports Show begins its fourth season, we continue to look for ways to eventize the show and keep it fresh and groundbreaking,” FSN executive vice president of programming and production George Greenberg said in a prepared statement.

“The chance to put one of boxing's biggest names -- James Toney -- on the air live in a heavyweight championship bout was something we could not pass up," he added.
