fuboTV Taps Jason Solinsky as CTO

fuboTV, a self-described “sports-first” virtual MVPD, has tapped former Google engineer Jason Solinsky as chief technology officer.

Solinsky will be based out of fuboTV’s New York headquarters and report to company co-founder and CEO David Gandler.

fuboTV noted that it plans to double its staff by the end of year, focused on additions to engineering, design and marketing. fuboTV, which launched service in January 2015,  ended Q2 with 71,170 subscribers.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Jason as fuboTV’s new CTO.  Jason brings a unique combination of advanced technology leadership and business acumen that will enable fuboTV to continue to be a world-class sport first video service,” said Gandler, in a statement. “His arrival marks yet another major step forward in our quest to deliver the ultimate viewing experience to our fast-growing consumer base.”

Solinsky joins fuboTV following four years at Google, where he managed teams of software engineers working on Google’s AdExchange and Doubleclick for Publishers. Before that, he founded and served as CTO at several tech companies, including USPowerSolutions (sold to Green Mountain Energy in 2002); Cozmo Media; USEngineering Solutions; and Bioarray Data Systems.

Solinsky studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
