FXX Orders Marvel's Deadpool Animated Series

FXX has ordered to series an untitled animated series based on Marvel Comics' popular Deadpool character, the network announced Wednesday.

Atlanta creator/producers Donald Glover and Stephen Glover will serve as showrunners, executive producers and writers of the adult action-comedy series, scheduled to debut in 2018.

The Deadpool animated series will be the second Marvel Television-themed series for FX Networks, following last year’s launch of Legion on FX, which has been renewed for a second season.

“Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who’ll bring the untitled Marvel’s Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta,” said Nick Grad, president of origina programming for FX Networks and FX Prouductions in a statement.  “With the success of Legion, we’re looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original.”
