Ganeless to Leave USA

In the first major cable-executive departure since the NBC Universal merger, USA Network executive vice president and general manager Michele Ganeless will leave her position at the end of the month, USA officials confirmed.

Ganeless, who has been at USA since 2001, was running the network on an interim basis after former network president Doug Herzog left last January.

Ganeless' future role at USA, however, was in flux after Sci Fi president Bonnie Hammer was also handed the reins of USA two weeks ago when the merger was completed.

USA executive VP of series and long-form programming Jeff Wachtel will remain with the channel, network executives said.
