Golden Globes: FX, AMC Dominate Awards

The annual Golden Globes Awards event is known for its unpredictability, and the 74th edition of the awards show held Sunday night did not disappoint as a slew of freshman basic cable and online streaming series won the majority of TV awards.

FX, led by limited series People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story and freshman comedy series Atlanta took home the most Golden Globes awards with four, followed by AMC, which earned three awards for its limited series The Night Manager.

Netflix was the only other service to garner multiple awards, winning two statuettes for its first-year series The Crown, which wonfor best drama series as well as best actress in a drama series for Claire Foy.

Noticeably absent from the list of award wininng networks was HBO, which led all networks with 14 nominations. In fact, only five content distributors won awards, with ABC and Amazon joining FX, AMC and Netflix.
