HBO Renews ‘Insecure,’ ‘Ballers’

HBO didn’t wait long after launching new campaigns of Insecure and Ballers to renew both comedy series for an additional season, the network announced Tuesday.

Insecure, which stars Issa Rae, will return to HBO for a third season while the Dwayne ‘The Rock” Johnson starrer Ballers has been renewed for a fourth season, according to HBO officials.

Both series debuted new seasons on July 23.

“We’re thrilled that the summer lineup of Ballers and Insecure connected with our viewers out of the gate,” said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president, HBO Programming in a statement. “We're so proud to work with Dwayne, Issa and all of the amazing talent in both shows.”

Created by Rae and Larry Wilmore, Insecure follows the friendship of two black women as they deal with their own real-life flaws while attempting to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences.

Ballers follows the whirlwind lifestyles and real-life problems of former and current football players, according to HBO.
