HBO’s ‘Behind The Candelabra’ Draws 2.4 Million Viewers

HBO’s Liberace bio-pic Behind The Candelabra struck a chord with viewers Saturday, garnering 2.4 million watchers in its 9 p.m. debut.

The movie, starring Michael Douglas as flamboyant music star Liberace and Matt Damon as his lover Scott Thorson, was the most watched HBO original movie since the 2004 premiere of Something The Lord Made, which drew 2.6 million watchers, said network officials.

An 11 p.m. re-airing of Behind the Candelabra drew an additional 1.1 million viewers, bringing the overall Saturday night total to 3.5 million watchers, according to HBO.
