The History Channel has devoted Monday night to programming related to Hurricane Katrina.
World-premiere special Katrina: American Catastrophe at 8 p.m. (EST/PST) explores the history, science and technology behind what happened in New Orleans, as well as the city’s uncertain future.
Modern Marvels: The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway follows at 9 p.m. This installment of the network’s Modern Marvels series looks at the lake that was the source of much of the water that destroyed New Orleans.
Finally, at 10 p.m., Isaac's Storm will revisit the legendary category-4 hurricanethat leveled Galveston, Texas, in 1900, resulting in more than 6,000 deaths.
Modern Marvels: The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and Isaac's Storm are both encore presentations.
