The Independent Film Channel is expanding its distribution base, securing long-term carriage agreements with the National Cable Television Cooperative, as well as MSOs Blue Ridge Communications, Liberty Cablevision and Tekstar Cablevision, according to network officials.

IFC, already in 30 million homes, will add 151,000 subscribers in the Philadelphia DMA through the Blue Ridge pact, as well as 18,260 subscribers in 25 towns and communities in northern Minnesota through Tekstar.

Via the Liberty deal, IFC will add 120,000 homes in Puerto Rico.

As far as the NCTC agreement, IFC gains access to pursue carriage commitments from the co-op membership, comprising 1,000 independent cable operators and 6,500 systems reaching some 14 million subscribers.

IFC did not disclose deal terms.
