K2 Hires Ex-Turner Exec Fakier

K2 Marketing Group said it has hired, for its newly formed cable-marketing group, Turner Broadcasting System Inc. veteran Libby Fakier, who will serve as director of client services at the Pasadena, Calif.-based agency.

Fakier spent 13 years at Turner, where, as director of partnership marketing, she was responsible for developing and executing the “NASCAR on TNT” national promotion, the most ambitious network promotion in Turner’s history.

She also developed Cable News Network’s “Your Choice. Your Voice.” election promotion, which won a Cable Television Public Affairs Association “Beacon Award,” and executed the affiliate programs for Cartoon Network’s “SMASH Tennis,” “Cool Toons Mobile,” “Quest World Adventure” and “Dive In Theatre” promotions, to name just a few.

Then, as a promotions consultant to Blue Sky Agency in Atlanta, Fakier developed and executed a number of high-profile marketing programs including National Geographic Channel’s public-affairs program, “Everyday Explorer.”
