Layer3 TV Appoints D.A. Wallach to Content Advisory Board

Layer3 TV, the Denver-based next-gen cable operator, said it has added recording artist and venture capitalist D.A. Wallach to its Content Advisory Board. 

Layer3 TV said the addition of Wallach, also an entrepreneur, will bring music and additional startup knowledge to the company.

Wallach joins a content board that also includes Brian Brady, John Hane, Preston Padden, Michael Regan, Sean Riley, Jeff Sherwin, and Dave Shull.

“If innovation occurs at the crossroads of different fields, we are thrilled to have D.A., and his knowledge of music and startups, have a seat at our table,” Lindsay Gardner, chief content officer for Layer3 TV, said in a statement. “He understands the value of delivering content that resonates with consumers, and his perspective will be critical as we build the ultimate entertainment experience.”

“Sitting in between content and technology in Los Angeles, I have been watching Layer3 TV grow for a few years,” Wallach added. “It’s a privilege to join this amazing team and advise them on music integration into the living room and the future of entertainment.”

Wallach was discovered by Kanye West and Pharrell Williams. As a member of indie pop duo, Chester French, Wallach has released three full-length albums, been featured in GQ, Rolling Stone, Vogue, and served as Spotify’s official Artist in Residence, Layer3 TV said. His solo album, Time Machine, was released in October 2015. In 2016, Wallach made his feature film debut in La La Land.

 Wallach is also a partner in Inevitable Ventures, an investment partnership he co-found with Ron Burkle that supports entrepreneurs in areas such as healthcare and labor. Wallach also advises other startups, including SpaceX, Doctor on Demand, Ripple Labs, and Spotify where he was the official Artist in Residence.

Layer3 TV has launched service in parts of in Los Angeles, in Longmont, Colo. (through a partnership with municipal provider NextLight), and in the Washington, D.C., and Chicago metro arears. Denver is among the launch markets on deck.
