Lifetime Television teamed up with Entertainment Industries Council Inc. to conduct a poll on the issue of human trafficking.
The network and EIC conducted the pool to coincide with the debut of original miniseries Human Trafficking on Lifetime Oct. 24.
The poll found that: 55% of Americans believe human trafficking is a major problem within our borders; 45% actually feel that it is happening in or near their own communities; and 53% said human trafficking should carry the harshest penalties, versus drug trafficking (30%) or gun trafficking (14%).
International Communications Research conducted the telephone poll of 1,012 adults (504 women and 508 men).
