Lifetime Hosting TraffickingViewing Parties

Lifetime Television is hosting house viewing parties of new miniseries Human Trafficking.

The network is teaming up with U.S. Women Without Borders, a project of the Women’s Funding Network and its member funds, and Amnesty International on the events.

Human Trafficking -- which stars Academy Award- and Golden Globe Award-winner Mira Sorvino and Golden Globe- and Emmy Award-winner Donald Sutherland in a drama about the realities behind the international trafficking and brokering of women and children for sex -- will debut on the network Oct. 24 and 25 at 9 p.m. (EST/PST).

Lifetime said the Women’s Funding Network has already organized more than 50 house parties in 20 states.

“We are so excited to partner with the Women’s Funding Network and Amnesty International USA to create community conversations around this horrific crime, and we will help to further drive the message that Americans care about this issue and want our government to take action to protect victims of abuse,” Lifetime Entertainment Services executive vice president of public affairs Meredith Wagner said in a prepared statement.
