Luxton Named World Fishing Net GM

World Fishing Network named Sean Luxton General Manager of WFN US effective immediately. Luxton, who will work from the WFN US office in Centennial, Colo., will report to Jim Liberatore, president and CEO of Outdoor Sportsman Group – Networks, which includes Outdoor Channel, Sportsman Channel and World Fishing Network.

“No one is more familiar with and more passionate about WFN than Sean, who recently celebrated a decade of service with WFN,” Liberatore said in a statement. “We’ll benefit from his expertise and relationships with many of our most important stakeholders as Sean helps us incorporate WFN under the broader Outdoor Sportsman Group umbrella, maximizing our value to our viewers and affiliates.”

Luxton had served as senior vice president of Digital and Content Distribution since 2012 in WFN’s Toronto office after previously holding the role of senior vice president of Affiliate and Content Distribution at the network’s Centennial, Colorado office from 2010-12. Recently, Luxton was responsible for re-booting the network’s digital platforms and has overseen new launches on Armstrong, Comcast, Cox Communications, Service Electric and Suddenlink systems, among others. He initially joined World Fishing Network ahead of its launch in December 2005 as vice president of Content Distribution and helped to grow the brand to encompass nearly 60 million households across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.

“I’m thrilled to take on the challenge of working with the team to grow World Fishing Network by delivering the best viewing experience to our audience of more than 60 million anglers across North America, wherever they are and however they want to access our content,” Luxton said in a statement.
