Maggioni Part of E!’s Script

Looking to enter the scripted-series arena, E! Entertainment Television appointed Alex Maggioni as senior vice president of original programming and series development, officials said Monday.

In her new role, Maggioni is charged with the development and production of scripted series that fit within the E! brand. The network plans to debut its first scripted offerings in late 2007 or early 2008.

Prior to joining E!, Maggioni served as senior VP of development and production at Adelstein Parouse Productions since 2003, where she developed and executive-produced the pilot Awesometown; oversaw production on series Prison Break and Point Pleasant for Fox; and co-executive-produced pilots including Wiener Park for NBC and Robinson Bros. for Fox.

Prior to that, Maggioni was head of television at ShadyAcres Entertainment, overseeing episodic production on ABC's 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter and Platonically Incorrect for the company. She also served as senior VP, development at UBU Productions, where she oversaw development of feature and television projects including SpinCity and Battery Hill for ABC/DreamWorks.
