Magic-Cavaliers Gives TNT Ratings Assist

The Orlando Magic's dramatic win over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers scored a double-digit advance in viewers for the "drama" network Wednesday night.

TNT's May 20 coverage of the first game of the Eastern Conference finals produced a 4.6 national rating and averaged 7.32 million viewers, 18.3% more than the 6.19 million that tuned in for the opener of the 2008 Western Conference confrontation between the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs, covered by TNT.

Magic-Cavs was also up 24% over last year's Eastern Conference opener between the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons, which aired on ESPN.
