Making Innovation Key5/25/2007 8:00 PM Eastern
Laura Dames, 36
Laura Dames knew what she wanted to do before she graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. “When I was a senior in college, I decided I wanted a career specifically in cable television because of the growth potential and opportunities for women,” she said.
“This industry was so exciting then, and it is just as challenging and exhilarating today because of the numerous new developments in competition, technology and distribution.”
Dames joined Turner Broadcasting in 1992 and has worked her way up to her current position of senior vice president of marketing operations for TBS and TNT. Innovation is key as she and her team work to bring ad sales and marketing together in partnerships that span different media platforms.
“My goal is to keep evolving our philosophies on program formatting, on-air asset management and promotional opportunities for our affiliates and advertisers so that Turner Entertainment Networks are synonymous with innovation,” Dames said.
Previously, Dames served as vice president of marketing operations for TNT and, prior to that, she was director of marketing for TNT.
