Marquez KOs Pacquiao in PPV Boxing Stunner

It took him four fights, but Juan Manuel Marquez Saturday finally beat Manny Pacquiao in convincing fashion.

In stunning fashion, Marquez knocked Pacquiao out cold in the sixth round of their pay-per-view welterweight boxing match, and in doing so may have ended the career of the former PPV pound-for-pound champion.

The fight – the fourth between the two rivals–was as action-packed as their first three encounters, with both fighters landing big blows throughout the bout. Pacquiao, who won two and earned a draw in the previous three fights against Marquez, was knocked down in the third round but recovered to knock down Marquez in the fifth.

The two fighters exchanged powerful punches in the sixth before Marquez landed a perfect shot to knock Pacquiao out face down on the canvas.

The loss was Pacquiao’s second straight after suffering a controversial defeat to Timothy Bradley Jr. this past June. The loss all but ends any chance of a big ticket Pacquiao fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Mayweather, who said last week he will fight twice in 2013, has refused to fight Pacquiao unless the Pilipino fighter submitted to random drug tests prior to the fight.
