mun2 No Longer Over Miami6/20/2005 7:57 AM Eastern
Telemundo will move its mun2 Television cable network from Miami to Los Angeles, AP reported.
The move is expected to be completed by Oct. 1, and some 30 employees will be affected, according to AP.
The programmer is targeting Southern California's increasing Hispanic population and Hollywood's arts community, according to AP.
"The second generation is the most important driver of the Hispanic population growth, and the trendsetters today are out on the West Coast," Telemundo senior executive vice president of network strategy Antoinette Zel told AP.
She added that another reason for the move is to take advantage of the vast resources of parent company NBC Universal.
