The N Welcomes Moesha

Former UPN sitcom Moesha will make its cable debut on New Year’s Day with a marathon on The N.

The tween-targeted Nickelodeon spinoff will air the series’ first two seasons -- season one Saturday, Jan. 1, from 6 p.m.-midnight (EST), and the second season at the same time the following day.

Then beginning Monday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m., Moesha will move into its regular weekday time slot with two back-to-back episodes premiering Monday-Friday.

Moesha starred Brandy and featured appearances by celebrities including Usher, Gabrielle Union, Bernie Mac, Kobe Bryant, Jermaine Dupri, Mary J. Blige and Lil' Bow Wow. It ran on UPN from 1995-2001.

"We are thrilled to add Moesha to The N's programming lineup," The N vice president of programming and production Sarah Tomassi Lindman said in a prepared statement. "The series fits perfectly within our mission to be the authentic voice of teens."
