Starz Entertainment Group LLC announced several new film series it will debut on its Starz and Encore thematic channels in August.

Starz Comedy will air “Crazy 8’s” Fridays at 8 p.m., featuring films such as 13 Going on 30, Duplex, White Chicks and Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.

Starz Edge plans to look sharp with “9 Sharp” Thursdays at 9 p.m., which will offer edgy movies such as The Bourne Supremacy, The Butterfly Effect, The Dawn of the Dead and Riding Giants.

It’s love every weeknight from Encore Love, which will present “9 O’Clock Nightly” Monday-Friday at, obviously, 9 p.m. The block will feature romantic films such as The Piano, HopeSprings, The Last of the Mohicans and French Kiss.

But love isn’t just for during the week: Encore Love will also air “The Saturday Seduction” Saturdays at 9 p.m., featuring “torrid tales” like Basic Instinct, Wild at Heart and Swimming Pool.

And on Sundays, Encore Love will air “Girls Night In,” featuring “heartthrobs” including Brad Pitt in Meet Joe Black, Ben Affleck in Gigli and Ashton Kutcher in My Boss’s Daughter.

“The Starz and Encore thematic channels are the beginning point for viewers who want to find programming that fits a specific genre content,” Starz Entertainment Group senior vice president of programming and acquisitions Stephan Shelanski said in a prepared statement.

“The film series we put together on those channels showcase different aspects of each genre, which provides viewers with a dependable destination for the programming they want at a predictable day and time on an ongoing basis,” he added.
