National Geographic Channel is using its “Spidey sense.”

The night before the theatrical release of Spider-Man 2, the network will air Spider Power, which will examine the evolution of “one of the most successful hunters on the planet” over the past 400 million years.

Dr. Simon Pollard, curator of invertebrate zoology at Canterbury Museum in New Zealand, will host Spider Power.

The one-hour special will debut Friday, June 25 at 8 p.m. (EST/PST), while Spider-Man 2 hits theaters the next day.
