Nick Adds Six for 2005-06

Nickelodeon Wednesday announced six new live-action and animated series for the 2005-06 season.

The network said it will also premiere 248 episodes of 18 returning Nick and Nick Jr. series, giving it a total of 124 hours of new, original programming.

Nick’s additions for the 2005-06 season: Catscratch, debuting in September, an animated show about three wealthy fumbling felines who carry on in a world of humans; Power Strikers (working title), also slated for September, a live-action comedy executive-produced by Whoopi Goldberg about four soccer players on a winning girls' team; and The X's, to premiere in November, another live-action show about a family of highly trained secret spies living in the suburbs.

For its part, Nick Jr. will welcome to its lineup: Go, Diego, Go!, an animated spinoff of Nick’s Dora the Explorer starring Dora's eight-year-old rough-and-tumble cousin, Diego, set for an October debut; The Wonder Pets, a combination live-action/animated series about three opera-singing classroom pets who become superheroes after school, set for a 2006 debut; and Wubby Widget and Walden, an animated series about three indefinable creatures who each approach and solve problems in a different way, also set for 2006.
