Nick Has a New Old Hobbie

Holly Hobbie is making a comeback, with help from Nickelodeon Consumer Products.

The Nickelodeon unit reached an agreement with American Greetings Corp. to handle the licensing of the icon of the 1970s and 1980s, which generated more than $1 billion in retail sales.

“We approached Nickelodeon Consumer Products to handle licensing for Holly Hobbie based on its incredible track record of success with its own properties,” American Greetings vice president of licensing Michael W. Brown said in a prepared statement. “Nickelodeon runs one of the most successful licensing departments in the business, and we wanted to tap into that expertise.”
