No More Boo Boos: TLC Cancels ‘Honey Boo Boo’

TLC has cancelled its reality series Honey Boo Boo after reports that star June Shannon was dating a convicted sex offender.

The network released a statement Friday cancelling the show a day after saying that it was “reassessing the series” following a  TMZ reported earlier in the week that Shannon -- who is the mother of 9-year old beauty pageant winner Alana “Honey Boo Boo" Thompson -- is once again dating Mark McDaniel who was convicted of molesting a child in Shannon’s family years earlier when they first dated.

Shannon on her facebook page denied that she was dating McDaniel.

"TLC has cancelled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately," TLC said in the statement. “Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being.”

TLC finished airing new episodes from the series’ fourth season of the series in August 2014.
