Ovation Gets Promised HD Carriage On TWC, BHN

When Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks relaunched Ovation on Jan.1, the companies also rolled out Ovation HD in a number of TWC and BHN systems across the country. Systems with Ovation HD now include New York City; Los Angeles San Diego, Calif.; North and South Carolina and Orlando and Tampa, Fla.

“One year to the day, Ovation is back and better than ever on Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks,” Brad Samuels, executive vice president, content distribution, at the arts network, said in a release, alluding to the network's 2013 absence on the two operators' lineups. “As of January 1, our SD service was reinstated, and we gained incremental carriage with HD launches in a number of markets. Now, many of our Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks subscribers can watch us in high definition as well.”

Coming up, Ovation premieres original series The Fashion Fund on Wednesday, Jan. 22. The docu-series features legendary Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (pictured), acclaimed designer Diane von Furstenberg and a group of talented emerging designers vying for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize. Ovation’s series The Art Of also returns with new episodes that began Jan. 5.

Ovation HD is now available, through several operators, to approximately 15 million subscribers across the country, the network said.
