OWN Sets ‘House Of Payne’ Spinoff

OWN will team with Tyler Perry to launch a spinoff series from Perry’s House Of Payne, the network said Monday.

The new series, The Paynes, will bring back House Of Payne main characters Curtis Payne (LaVan Davis) and Ella Payne (Cassi Davis) who are trying to enjoy their retirement in Florida only to get roped into a real estate deal that will tumble their lives, said OWN. House Of Payne ran on TBS and OWN from 2006 to 2012.

In addition, the network announced the fourth and final season of comedy series Love Thy Neighbor on March 4 and the fifth and final season of For Better or Worse on June 10.

Also, the network said it has ordered 44 additional episodes of Perry-produced hit drama series The Haves and The Have Nots and 18 episodes of If Loving You is Wrong.

OWN president Erik Logan said in a statement: “Tyler has been an incredible collaborator, a great partner and has an unprecedented track record of success with his hit scripted series. Tyler’s shows are must see TV for his loyal audience and we are excited to offer up a brand-new comedy and more episodes of their favorite Tyler dramas on OWN.  We also would like to thank the entire casts of both Love Thy Neighbor and For Better or Worse who have given us loads of laughs over the years.  Both series have had great runs and we appreciate everyone’s hard work and dedication.”
