Oxygen Media in August will profile the next generation of female emcees in its new docu-series Sisterhood of Hip Hop, the network announced Monday.
The series, executively produced by hip hop recording artist T.I., will debut Aug. 12 and will offer a behind the scenes look at the music several female hip hop artists trying to break into a music genre traditionally dominate by men.
“The talented artists featured in Sisterhood of Hip Hop are vibrant characters that will resonate with Oxygen’s young, female viewers,” said Rod Aissa, senior vice president of original programming and development for Oxygen Media. “The optimistic and empowering nature of the show is truly unique and we look forward to rooting for each woman’s success and giving fans the opportunity to follow along on their journey.”
