Oxygen Tops 66M Mark

Oxygen said it is now available in 66.3 million homes, up 22% from February 2005, according to the latest Nielsen Media Research universe estimates.

The women’s network was boosted by a carriage deal with EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service -- on which it replaced Lifetime Movie Network due to a carriage dispute -- as well as Comcast Corp. launches in Philadelphia and Boston in December.

“We are incredibly proud to be so close to full distribution in such a short period of time,” Oxygen Media Inc. president and chief operating officer Lisa Gersh said in a prepared statement. “We’ve always believed that the best way for us to do business was to be a great partner to cable and satellite operators. It’s gratifying to see our strategy paying dividends.”
