Pacquiao Defeats Bradley In Big PPV Boxing RematchAvenges 2012 Loss With Unanimous Decision Win 4/13/2014 1:30 AM Eastern
Manny Pacquiao's win could set him up for more lucrative PPV boxing events in the future.
Pay-per-view boxing icon Manny Pacquiao defeated Timothy Bradley Jr. in a unanimous decision Saturday night, avenging a controversial 2012 loss to the former undefeated welterweight champion.
In the main event of a four-fight HBO Sports PPV fight card, Bradley came out aggressively in the early rounds looking to knock out Pacquiao, but Pacquiao would eventually gain control of the fight by blocking and counter punching Bradley’s power punches throughout the middle rounds. Pacquiao would land several hard punches on the tiring Bradley in the later rounds to win a unanimous decision.
In their June 2012 fight, Bradley won an unpopular split decision that most ringside observers believed Pacquiao won easily.
The fight was the first PPV boxing appearance for Pacquiao since his November 2013 unanimous decision win against Brandon Rios, which drew 475,000 PPV buys. It was also the first PPV event of the year for HBO Sports, which has scheduled a June 7 PPV fight between middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and Miguel Cotto.
