'Pig Man' Episode Sets Sportsman Channel's Ratings Mark

Original series Pig Man: The Series dug up big numbers for Sportsman Channel.

The episode entitled "Aporkalypse Now" averaged a 0.5 coverage rating among males 18 to 49 from 10 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 26, according to Nielsen data. Officials at Sportsman said the delivery on a live+ 7 basis made the channel the top performer with that group among mid-sized networks in that time period.

The show featured host Brian “Pig Man” Quaca and guest Ted Nugent joining forces for a high-octane helicopter harvest, educating and entertaining viewers on the dangers of feral pigs.

“This is a ratings success story fueled by one incredibly intense show, two irresistible personalities, and millions of impressions generated by our unrivaled promotional assets,” said Gavin Harvey, CEO of Sportsman Channel, in a statement. “With dozens of new best-in-class series in our programming lineup this fall, and our most impressive marketing effort to date, I expect many more ratings successes as we head into the prime fall hunting season.”
