Oprah’s Afterparty Now a Weekly Affair

New York — Oprah Winfrey’s show on Oxygen has been cut back from a daily schedule to once a week.

Oprah After the Show is now airing only on Fridays at 7 p.m., rather than weeknights in that time slot. Winfrey’s 30-minute Oxygen program is filmed right after her syndicated daytime talker, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and depicts her chatting with her guests and audience members that very day.

Winfrey is an investor in Oxygen, which launched Oprah After the Show in 2002.

An Oxygen spokeswoman said that the transition to a weekly time frame was done to accommodate Winfrey’s schedule. Despite the cutback in frequency, Oxygen extended its agreement to run the show for another year, through 2007.
