Switzerland-based The Quickline Group has picked SeaChange International to provide the key tech underpinnings of a new multiscreen TV service that offers catch-up TV, network DVR and personalization components.

The service, called Quickline TV, will run on SeaChange’s multiscreen-capable Adrenalin video backoffice platform and tie into set-tops outfitted with Nucleus, SeaChange’s set-top box software that uses RDK-V, the video-facing version of the Reference Design Kit (RDK), the software platform for gateways being managed by Comcast, Liberty Global and Charter Communications (via its acquisition of Time Warner Cable).

SeaChange said it also helped with the deployment of Android and iOS apps for the Quickline TV service.

On the personalization end, the new multiscreen service will also support individual subscriber profiles.

Quickline uses a centralized video platform to support 25 independent regional cable operators that serve about 400,000 homes.

“With Quickline’s groundbreaking achievements in personalization, ease of enjoyment and RDK implementation, we believe the eyes of the media world will be on Quickline TV as a new ideal for video service provider evolution,” SeaChange CEO Ed Terino, said in a statement.
