Rose Enrolls at CSTV9/08/2006 8:00 PM Eastern
New York— Charlie Collier wasn’t the only high-profile former Court TV executive to surface last week: the legal network’s former executive vice president of distribution is now with CSTV Networks.
Bob Rose, who after 14 years was laid off in June following Time Warner Inc.’s purchase of the 50% stake it didn’t own in Court from Liberty Media Corp. and the legal network’s integration into the media giant’s Turner Broadcasting System unit, has joined the college sports service as executive vice president of distribution.
At CBS Corp.-owned CSTV, he will be the lead executive in all negotiations and ongoing relationships with cable and direct-broadcast satellite providers, as well as nontraditional outlets such as wireless providers, telephone companies, hotels, restaurants and in-store and in-flight services.
Rose, reporting to CSTV CEO Brian Bedol, will work closely with all departments to expand the distribution of both CSTV and the Mountain West Conference’s regional sports service, “the mtn.” He also has responsibilities for analysis and actions necessary for changes in the regulatory and competitive environments.
He will also work with CSTV’s programmers to create strategies for emerging new-media platforms including wireless, broadband and video-on-demand.
