Sci Fi Sets Farscape Mega-Marathon

Sci Fi Channel plans a big send-off for Farscape fans next month.

The NBC Universal Cable service will present all 88 episodes of the series in a weekday marathon from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 1-15.

The stunt is a prelude to Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars, the four-hour miniseries that will serve as a coda to The Jim Henson Co. show.

Sci Fi abruptly retro-rocketed the series into the void in 2002 after four seasons, due to falling ratings and high production costs.

The cancellation touched off a major backlash among Farscape followers, who vehemently protested the network’s decision via a substantial electronic-mail campaign.

The miniseries continues the adventures of astronaut John Crichton (Ben Browder), who has fallen in love with Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black). They want their baby to be born and live in peace, but intergalactic battles between the Scarrans and the Peacekeepers must be attended to first.
