Showtime Sets Notre Dame Football Docuseries

Showtime Sports will follow the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame’s 2015 college football season as part of a new documentary series, the network said Tuesday.

The series, A Season With Notre Dame Football, will debut Sept. 8 – three days after the team’s opening week game against Texas – and will feature all-access coverage of each Notre Dame game every Tuesday throughout the season, according to network officials.

Each week the series will follow Notre Dame’s players both in the locker room as well as in the classroom as it chronicle’s the team’s march to a national championship.

“We’re honored and thrilled to be granted access to profile a college football program with a legacy as storied and as fascinating as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish,” said Stephen Espinoza, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Showtime Sports.  “The passion of the players and head coach Brian Kelly will make for a compelling television series that will appeal beyond hardcore college football fans to all viewers who appreciate great storytelling.”
