Syfy Greenlights 'Channel Zero' Anthology Series

Syfy will jump into the anthology series genre with the 2016 debut of Channel Zero, the network said Wednesday.

The series will featuer two self-contained, six-episode seasons that will air in the Fall of 2016 and 2017 as part of the network's annual "31 Days of Halloween" programming event, said network officials.

The Nick Antosca and Max Landis-produced Channel Zero's first installment is Candle Cove, based on Kris Straub's "creepypasta" online horror story, while the second, as-yet-titled second installment will premiere on Syfy in 2017, said network officials.

"As Syfy’s first ever Halloween original scripted series, Channel Zerowill transport viewers into the deepest recesses of their darkest imagination, with frightening tales from two of the genre’s most accomplished storytellers, Max Landis and Nick Antosca," said David Howe, president of Syfy and Chiller.
