TBS Sets Earth to America

TBS will tape a two-hour comedy and music show aimed at raising awareness of issues relating to the environment.

Earth to America will be taped at The Comedy Festival at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas Nov. 17 to air later on the network.

The show will feature stand-up, videotaped vignettes, comedy sketches and musical performances, with appearances by Tom Hanks, Martin Short, Larry David, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Cameron Diaz and Jack Black, among other celebrities, including members of the music and sports communities.

In addition to the comedy and musical entertainment, the show will honor environmental heroes.

Earth to America began as Earth to LA. Last year, it raised $3 million for the Natural Resources Defense Council.

“As the television destination for comedy, TBS is the perfect home for Earth to America,” said Steve Koonin, executive vice president and chief operating officer of TBS and Turner Network Television, in a prepared statement.

“We are proud to be able to bring the best comedy talent in the industry to our audience of comedy lovers for what is certain to be an extraordinary television event,” he added.
