TNA Impact Wrestling will feature four live pay-per-view events as part of a revamped PPV programming lineup, the company announced Thursday.
TNA will offer four major live events in 2013 – Genesis (Jan. 13, retailing at a suggested price of $34.95), Lockdown (March 10, $34.95), Slammiversary (June 9, $39.95)) and Bound For Glory (Oct. 13, $44.95) – along with seven taped PPV specials branded as TNA Wrestling: One Night Only events. The first of the three-hour taped PPV specials -- priced at a suggested $14.95 -- will debut in April, with future shows airing on the first Friday of each month, according to company officials.
TNA’s 2013 PPV lineup is a change from last year, when the pro wrestling outfit offered a dozen live PPV events. The company will continue to offer its weekly Thursday night Impact Wrestling series on Spike TV.
“The Pay-Per-View industry has changed so much in the last decade,” says TNA President Dixie Carter in a statement. “The traditional Pay-Per-View wrestling model needed to evolve and we believe this strategy will positively impact not only the Pay-Per-View events but weekly television programming as well.”
The company will continue to produce its monthly one-hour video on demand show Unfinished Business, said network officials.
