TV Guide Slate Tees Up ‘Gossip Cop’

TV Guide Network is amping up its original
programming slate, lining up a trio of miniseries set
to bow later this year and developing three shows eyeing
Hollywood news,
fashion and pop culture.

On the celebritynews
front, Ish Entertainment
and the
network will proffer
a pilot for Gossip Cop,
based on the website
of the same name,
tackling the week in
celebrity news. Executive-

(All About Aubrey, Celebrity
Rehab With Dr. Drew
), Dan Abrams (ABC News
and co-founder of GossipCop.com) and Michael Lewittes
(creator and co-founder of GossipCop.com), the show,
hosted by Beth Ostrowsky, will give A-list celebrities a
chance to “fight back” against the tabloids and set the
record straight.

Project Runway’s Desiree Gruber and Jane Cutler.

And Michael Davies’ Embassy Row will produce a
weekly insider’s guide to the biggest television shows,
movies and celebrities, anchored from a “high-energy,
virtual set made of vivid and dynamic video.”
Miniseries will include the four-part Hollywood Crimes
and Misdemeanors
(working title) in August, eyeing headline-
making crimes of Hollywood’s rich and famous. In
October, the network and TV Guide magazine will team
on the four-installment Icons and Innovators, about TV’s
favorite icons of the past and their contemporary counterparts.
The following month will see Moments That

, chronicling such notable events as
Maude’s abortion — two months before Roe v. Wade
and Ellen’s coming out/gay kiss that opened doors for future
gay characters on TV.
