TV Land Greenlights 'The Gaffigan Show'

TV Land has picked up a new comedy series The Gaffigan Show, the network announced Tuesday.

The single camera series, inspired by comedian Jim Gaffigan’s life, will debut in 2015 with 10 episodes. Gaffigan will executively produce the show along with Peter Tolan (Rescue Me, The Larry Saunders Show). Brillstein Entertainment Partners’ Alex Murray and Sandy Wernick will also executive produce along with Michael Wimer of Fedora Entertainment, with Seth Gordon (The Goldbergs) directing the pilot episode.

Ashley Williams (How I Met Your Mother) will co-star in The Gaffigan Show along with Adam Goldberg (Fargo) and Michael Ian Black (Ed).

The series will also air on Comedy Central, a sister Viacom network, within one week after its TV Land premiere, said TV Land officials.

“We love Jim Gaffigan’s brand of humor … the second we saw this show we knew we wanted it on TV Land,” said TV Land president Larry Jones.  “The audience that TV Land is targeting is Gen Xers who are raising families so we love that this show reflects their world.”
