TV One to Air Veterans-Themed Documentary

TV One will commemorate Veteran’s Day with the Nov. 11 premiere of the documentary Veterans Of Color, said network officials.

Walmart will sponsor the premiere of the documentary -- which explores the the untold stories of African American men and women who served in all branches of the United States military – as part of the retailer’s  “Welcome Home Commitment” program dedicated to hiring more than 100,000 veterans over the next five years.

“TV One prides itself on offering programming that explores the breadth and depth of the black experience,” said Maureen Guthman, senior vice president of program strategy and acquisitions for TV One in a statement. “These gallant tales communicated through the lens of true American heroes will offer a personal unapologetic look at the many obstacles faced by African Americans in the military during a time of segregation and inequality in our nation.”
