TVGN To Launch Alan Thicke Reality Series

TVGN will dive into the reality series genre with the April 6 debut of the Unusually Thicke, the network announced Wednesday.

The series, which chronicles the lives of talk show host and actor Alan Thicke (Growing Pains) and his family, is the first reality series sitcom for the former TV Guide Network. The 14-episode reality series will follow the exploits of Thicke, his wife Tanya and his 16-year old son Carter.

In addition, the show will feature appearances from such personalities as David Hasselhoff (Knight Rider), Bob Saget (Full House), Bill Maher (Politically Incorrect), NBA basketball legend Magic Johnson and Thicke’s son, Grammy Award-winning singer Robin Thicke.

“Alan’s real-life persona is just as likable, engaging and funny as the television characters he’s played over the years, and we’re excited to bring viewers an original reality sitcom featuring his real-life modern family,” said Brad Schwartz, President, Entertainment and Media, TVGN in a statement.
