TW Cable Extends Out-of-Home Live TV Streaming to Web Browsers

Time Warner Cable has refreshed its browser-based TWC TV site to support select VOD titles and live TV channels that can be accessed by authenticated customers while they are on the go. The latest version of the site, which tacks on the out-of-home video component, supports both PC and Macs, the MSO said.

The Web update, announced Wednesday on the MSO's blog,  follows recent, similar upgrades TWC has made to apps that run on iOS- and Android-powered tablets and smartphones. Like those devices, the browser version also provides access to more than 1,100 hours of on demand TV shows and movies from 26 participating channels, and up to 11 live TV feeds, depending on the market.

When accessed from a subscriber’s in-home broadband network, TWC’s TV Everywhere apps for mobile devices and browsers offers access to more than 4,000 VOD titles and north of 300 live TV channels.
