TWC, Bright House Get Showtime AnytimeSubs Can Access TV Everywhere Service on PCs, iOS and Android Devices and Kindle Fire Tablets 11/26/2013 11:52 AM Eastern
Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks are the latest pay-TV providers to gain access to Showtime Anytime, the premium programmer’s authenticated TV Everywhere service.
The service -- which includes on-demand access to series such as Homeland, Dexter, Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex, and the live feeds of Showtime’s East and West coast feeds -- runs on PC browsers, iPhones, iPads, Android-powered phones and tablets, and the Amazon Kindle Fire.
Access to those apps comes almost three months after TWC and CBS ended their protracted retrans squabble and signed a deal that included Showtime Anytime rights.
"We're excited to be able to add SHOWTIME ANYTIME to our growing TV Everywhere offering," said Mike Angus, SVP and GM, video for Time Warner Cable, in a statement. "Our customers now have easy access to their favorite SHOWTIME programs anytime, anywhere."
“This is a significant milestone in our efforts to make SHOWTIME ANYTIME available to 100% of the multi-channel video universe,” added Tom Christie, president, distribution, business development, and network operations for Showtime.
Of recent note, Comcast extended support to the Showtime Anytime apps April. Other pay-TV operators with Showtime TV Everywhere rights include AT&T U-verse, DirecTV, Cablevision Systems and Verizon FiOS TV.
TWC and Bright House have previously secured TV Everywhere deals with HBO and Starz.
