TWC TV Everywhere App Gets More Localized

Time Warner Cable confirmed Monday that it is offering in-home streaming of local ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox stations via its authenticated TV Everywhere app in Los Angeles and San Diego.

Those additions follow similar access to local stations in New York City and Kansas City, company spokeswoman said, noting that TWC expects to offer streams of local affiliates in more markets in 2014.

At his juncture, the TWC TV app delivers in-home live TV streaming on iOS And Android devices, on browsers at twctv.com, Roku boxes and the Xbox 360. TWC is in the process of adding that live feature to its app for newer Samsung TVs, and, as the operator’s Senior VP, Converged Technology Group Matthew Zelesko told Multichannel News (subscription required) this month, the MSO is also working toward unifying its TV Everywhere lineup of live and on-demand programming on all supported platforms by the end of this year or by early 2014.

The Associated Press reported on TWC’s expanded  in-home local TV streaming lineup on Friday (December 13).

TWC, meanwhile, has also been expanding the number of channels its video subs can access out of the home.
