USA Network made it two wins in a row thus far in weekly summer ratings race as the season begins to heat up with the launch of several new series.
USA, on the strength of second installments of new seasons of Thursday night powerhouses Burn Notice and Royal Pains, averaged 3.2 million total primetime viewers to outpace all basic cable networks during the week of June 7 to June 13, according to a Disney-ABC Television Group analysis of Nielsen data.
Disney Channel finished second with 2.8 million viewers, while TNT was third with 2.3 million watchers. Fox News Channel drew 2.1 million viewers for fourth place, followed by TBS (1.7 million viewers) and Nick-At-Nite 1.6 million viewers.
ABC Family rode the strong third-season premiere of The Secret Life Of The American Teenager and the debut of freshman series Pretty Little Liars to an average of 1.5 million viewers, tying for seventh place with History -- which itself was aided by the premiere of returning hit series Pawn Stars.
A&E (1.3 million) and Cartoon Network (1.2 million) rounded out the top 10.
Despite impressive performances from the aforementioned Burn Notice (5.6 million viewers), Royal Pains (5.5 million) and Pawn Stars (5.3 million), it was repeat of the 1999 animated film Toy Story 2 in the Disney Channel that finished as the most watched show of the week, drawing 7.4 million viewers.
