VH1 Sets Black History Month Fare

VH1 is doing its part to mark Black History Month in February.

Among highlights of the network’s Black History Month-related programming:

• Three-part documentary Ego Trip's Race-O-Rama, “asking questions that very few people have had the nerve to ask before,” will air Feb. 21-23 at 9 p.m. (EST/PST). The three parts are Dude, Where's My Ghetto Pass? (Feb. 21), which explores white people's obsession with all things black; Blackaphobia! (Feb. 22), which asks how much longer African Americans can be stereotyped as the toughest, most intimidating minority in America; and In Race We Lust (Feb. 23), which looks at the world of interracial dating, love and offspring.

• Three-part documentary Black in the 80s, which airs Feb. 1-3 at 9 p.m. The three parts are: Color TV (Feb. 1), which examines the African-American influence on broadcasting during the 1980s; Sepia Tones (Feb. 2), a look at the limited view of African-American life in major studios’ theatrical releases; and Def Jams (Feb. 3), which explores the evolution of black music in the 1980s.

Driven: Nas, which debuts Feb. 9 at 9 p.m., explores the life of the son of an aspiring jazz musician and a postal worker who has carved out a 14-year hip-hop career.

The Fabulous Life of: Lil' Jon premieres Feb. 17 at 11 p.m.
